MM2H Application & Document Checklist Made Easy

The MM2H Application & Documents process is crucial for approval in the Malaysia My Second Home (MM2H) Program. Applicants must provide proof of income, bank statements, a police clearance certificate, and medical reports to confirm they meet the program’s financial and health requirements for long-term living in Malaysia.

Accurate completion of the MM2H application form, covering personal, financial, and health details, is essential. Once submitted, Malaysian authorities review the application to determine eligibility. Submitting well-organized documents increases the chances of approval, helping applicants secure a long-term visa to enjoy life in Malaysia.

MM2H Application Documents Required

1. Letter of Application

A letter from the applicant requesting participation in the MM2H program.

2. Resume of Main Applicant

A copy of the resume detailing:

  • Academic qualifications
  • Work experience
  • Skills and expertise

3. MM2H Application Form

A completed MM2H application form for the applicant and each dependent.

4. IM.12 Form (Social Visit Pass)

Three (3) copies of the IM.12 form:

  • One (1) original
  • Two (2) photocopies
  • Note: The applicant and each dependent must complete this form individually.

5. Passport-sized Photographs

Four (4) recent colour passport-sized photographs.

6. Copy of Passport/Travel Documents

A certified copy of all passport pages, including those with personal details.

  • Note: If the applicant/dependent has renewed their passport within the last 12 months, a copy of the previous passport is required.

7. Personal Bond

A personal bond completed and signed by a Malaysia director/shareholder/manager from an MM2H-licensed company.

  • Note: This is required only for the main applicant.

8. Letter of Good Conduct (LGC)

A letter from the police authority in the applicant’s home country or the Embassy in Malaysia. The LGC must reference the police authority and be attested by the Embassy.

9. Health Declaration

A self-declaration of the applicant and dependents’ health status.

10. Marriage Certificate

A certified copy of the marriage certificate if the applicant is accompanied by a spouse.

11. Birth Certificates/Legal Documents

Certified copies of birth certificates or legal documents for children, adopted children, stepchildren, or parents.

  • For disabled children above 21, include a letter from a medical specialist or general practitioner.
  • A statutory declaration by the applicant to cover all expenses for dependents during their stay.

12. Financial Documents

Certified copies of the bank statements or other financial documents from the last three months show the applicant’s financial capability to support their stay in Malaysia.

13. Income Proof

Certified copies of the last three months’ payslips, income statements, pension slips, or other income proof.

14. Authorization Letter

An authorization letter from the applicant allowing the Malaysia My Second Home Centre to verify financial documents with relevant financial institutions.

Important Note of MM2H Application

  • All copies must be certified as True Copies of Original Documents by an embassy, high commission, notary public, oath commissioner, or government official.
  • Documents not originally in English must be translated by a certified translator.
  • Dependent(s) include spouse, unmarried children under 21, and parent(s) aged 60 and above.
  • Any documents submitted alongside the application will be considered the property of the Malaysia My Second Home Centre.

For Approved Participants:

  • The Personal Bond must be stamped (RM10.00) by the Inland Revenue Board of Malaysia’s Stamping Office.
  • Holders of the MM2H visa are not allowed to engage in any employment or job-related activities in Malaysia. Those seeking employment should apply for an employment visa through the Immigration Department of Malaysia.
